Visit southern Serbia

If you decide to visit Southern Serbia you’ll
see the region of high, snow peaked mountains,
old medieval monasteries tucked away in
forests far from the main roads.
Here, you can still experience a very strong
influence of the Orient, like in the town of
Novi Pazar- textile capital of the Balkans.
This part of Serbia with the strongest temperament,
spiciest dishes, best brandies and liveliest music,
will win you over with is untouched nature and
some of most beautiful natural scenery.

Kopaonik Mountain is well known as the most
exclusive of Serbian ski centres and a
prolific natural park.

If you go to Nis, you’ll experience the charm
of winding, narrow cobble stone streets that
lead to the Nis Fortress, a reminder of
the Turkish rule. Nis is also the birth-place
of Constantine the Great, the Roman emperor
who founded Constantinople and proclaimed
Christianity as one of the religions of
the Roman Empire.

Vranje is the southernmost Serbian town,
famous for its thermal spa that has been in use
since the Roman times. Just next to it is the
jewel of the south – Vlasinsko Lake – one of its
peculiarities are the “floating islets”.
The abundance of various diverse, and
sometimes conflicting, influences will help you
enjoy the true essence of the Balkans.
