Belgrade

Novi Sad

Belgrade sightseeing, one of the most exciting cities

Experience Belgrade, the capital of Serbia,
and the largest of the cities in the Balkans.
Situated at the confluence of the Sava and
Danube rivers lies one of the oldest of the
European cities and one of its greenest
capitals- there are more than fifty parks
in the territory of Belgrade!

Being in the centre of the Balkans, Belgrade has
withstood more battles than any other capital
and holds the record in the number of times
that it got levelled to the ground with more
than forty times trough its entire history.

The turbulent and rich history of Belgrade is
visible on/at every step. The centre of the
city is a mixture of so many different
architectural stiles and traditions!
One may say that Belgrade is a living example
of architecture of the past two centuries.

This two-million city is a perfect melting pot
of twenty-eight different ethnic groups that
live in Serbia. Christians called Belgrade
“The Rampart of Christianity” and the Muslims
“The Gates of the Holly War- Al Jihad”.
It is the city that has had more than thirty
official names, and the only capital that lived
to be the capital of five different countries in
the past century.
